About

Weixin Zhuang is originally from China, now a documentary filmmaker based in New York. 

 

He graduated with an MFA in Social Documentary films from the School of Visual Arts in 2020. 

 

He is a visual storyteller focused on exploring the motivations of human behaviors in the contemporary world, their struggles with identity, and the impact of history and current global political structures upon individuals, through cinematic and compelling imagery. With a sociology and anthropology background,  he strives to unfold his subjects' inner world combining both intimacy and coherence.

He is recently selected into the BAFTA Newcomers program.
